Wake Windows
Wake windows are meant to be a guide for parents, not a source of stress! Every child is different, and it takes experimentation to figure out what’s right for your child. If your current wake windows are working for you, please don’t change them. If they’re not, the guide below might be helpful.
So, how do you know when it’s time to change your window?
Your baby struggles to fall asleep
Your baby is irritable and difficult to settle
Your baby is taking super-short naps
If this happens for 3 to 4 days in a row, we recommend adding 15 minutes to that window first to see if that helps things. Always give a wake window change a few days to settle; one day isn’t a measure of success (or failure).
